Et tu, Bert?
Just when I thought the world couldn’t get any more insane, photographic evidence has emerged proving that Sesame Street’s Bert is involved with Osama/bin/Laden. You couldn’t make this up if you tried.

Photos of an anti-US rally in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Monday, Oct. 8 show demonstrators holding up posters of Osama/bin/Laden. Within the poster, on the right, is a printed image of “Sesame Street” children’s television character “Bert.”
The photos of the demonstration are completely genuine and un-retouched, and have been carried by several major news networks. Apparently, in their hurry to produce some /bin/Laden posters, the manufacturers just downloaded any images they could find — four out of the 8 images used in the poster are from the very first page of results in Google for an image search on Osama Bin Laden.

It seems that the image of Bert and /bin/Laden originally appeared on the now infamous ‘Bert is Evil’ web site in 1993, after the first bombing of the World Trade Center.

From Yahoo:
Azad Products, who manufactures the poster was not aware of the appearance of Bert in one of the collaged images that make up the poster. “We got the images through e-mails and off the internet. We did not give the pictures a second look or realize what they signified until you pointed it to us,” Mostafa Kamal, production manager, told The Associated Press. Sesame Street or Bert are hardly known in Bangladesh.
