The majority of Americans are morons — official

It’s been far too long since I’ve featured a ’stooopid rightwing US Christians’ story, but here’s one that caught my eye — $14 million Kentucky center will present creationism as science. From the LA Times article:

The Creation Museum & Family Discovery Center will offer all the classic science museum exhibits, but with a twist. Each one will be interpreted as proof of the biblical account that God created the Earth and all that’s in it over six days, just 6,000 years ago.

As for my claim that the majority of Americans are morons, well how’s this for proof:

Polls consistently show that just 10% of Americans believe in evolution unaided by external force. In contrast, 45% accept the biblical account that God created man within the last 10,000 years… a 1999 Gallup poll found that 68% favored teaching creationism along with evolution in public schools.

Actually, thinking about President Bush, perhaps the theory of evolution is rather flawed…
