CSS mailing list and FOUC
I seem to get far too much email nowadays as it is, so God knows why I’ve just subscribed to css-discuss, a new (Jan 2002) mailing list dedicated to Cascading Style Sheet issues. Looks like it’s going to be pretty high-traffic too (so I’ve opted for the digest version, which will be easier to go through over a coffee each morning).
One good link I’ve picked up from browsing their archives is an article at Blue Robot describing how to get around the problem of the Flash of Unstyled Content (FOUC), which this page actually suffers from. In a nutshell, certain pages that use the import method of external style sheet will show the page without the styles for a split second when viewed in IE for the PC. But there is a nifty solution!
