Drunken googly-eyed freaks
Finally got round to doing a bit of work on Wednesday, and went and had my eyes tested in the afternoon. Apparently my eyeballs are not even remotely spherical, and are in fact shaped like rugby balls. To make matters worse, my right eye is distorted diagonally too. I am a freak. The good news is this isn’t uncommon, probably won’t get any worse, and doesn’t mean I have to wear specs all the time (just for driving, watching TV and using the computer). So I’ve replaced my old glasses with two new pairs (titanium frames, which sounds rather hi-tec).
After the opticians, I met up with Simon over in Fulham at Michelle’s bar, Iguacu, where we proceeded to get rather sloshed on White Russians, and had some top notch grub. Highly recommended if you happen to be passing down Fulham Broadway, and fancy some really nice food/drink in very friendly surroundings. Of course, after getting a cab back here (Simon asleep), we had to have the obligatory kebab (Simon singing).
Had a leisurely breakfast this morning, before Si (stinking of garlic) headed off to Paddington for a train home at lunchtime. It’s been very good to have him up here, even if my productivity has taken a sharp turn for the worse…
