Hi Lauren, glad you found my experiences interesting.

My jury service was some years ago, so I'll give the British Legion the benefit of the doubt and assume they've tightened up their procedures for handling collection money by now. Suffice is to say that one of the cases I was on made me suspect that some of Poppy Appeal money wasn't reaching those it was meant to help.

Overall it was a fascinating experience, and at times very entertaining (stereotypical 'villains', cops, barristers and judges etc.) - although obviously that depends what type of case you get to a degree.

Anyway, take a good book or three, dress for comfort, and I'm sure you'll find it a worthwhile experience.

It was really interesting reading about your jury service.

I just have been sent a jury summons so wanted to read about other experiences of it.

Since it has just been Rememberance Sunday, it's interesting to read your suggestion not to buy a poppy from the Royal British Legion. I wonder what made you make that statement?

It was funny to hear that there were times that made you laugh in court. Plus the wearing shorts thing and the person who was unable to read the affirmation.

Thanks
