Er, oops

D’oh, Rob phoned me earlier and informed me that my comments weren’t working — whenever he tried to post, he just got a 404 message. In my eagerness to keep the install of pMachine as lean as possible, I renamed a certain directory to see if it was actually used. Everything seemed fine, so I [...]

Dave’s Burning Nuts

At last, some good news! Liverpool beat Auxerre 2-0 (3-0 on aggregate) and go through to the UEFA Cup quarter-finals to meet Celtic. OK, it’s not the Champions’ League, and Liverpool were pretty dismal in the first half, but when you’ve only won two of your last 16 Premiership matches, it’s worth celebrating.
Now the footie’s [...]

On the buses

What is happening with the weather at the moment? I really shouldn’t be able to wander around London all afternoon without a coat in February… Perhaps it’s connected to the sudden continental drift that, according to the GeoURL thingy on this page, has moved London 1013 miles east of Nairobi. On the other hand, I [...]

Badger’s International Greeting

In order to foster a spirit of international understanding (sadly lacking in the world at the moment), I have decide to introduce a new, irregular feature to WoB: Badger’s International Greeting. I choose a random country from this site’s visitor log, and greet everyone in that country’s language. Today’s International Greeting goes out to anyone [...]

More mild ranting

More MPs than expected revolted over Iraq during yesterdays vote on the war. But for me the most telling part was the fact that Tony Blair didn’t even bother sticking around for the debate. He came along, made his speech, answered a few questions, then buggered off. Dozens of experienced politicians, on both sides of [...]

Another triumph for US law enforcement

The FBI have admitted that Derek Bond is not the ‘America’s Most Wanted’ criminal they thought he was. Shame the 72 year old man from Bristol, on a wine-tasting holiday in South Africa with his wife, had to spend nearly three weeks behind bars before they’d accept that it was a case of mistaken identity. [...]

Move to Meles, it’s great!

Oh dear, The Free Republic of Meles has now been classed as a Capitalizt country. Don’t worry though, I’ve just upped the income tax on the super-wealthy. Meles’ status and description has changed accordingly:
Civil Rights: SuperbEconomy: Very StrongPolitical Freedoms: Very Good (could be better, but I banned a neo-nazi march)
The Free Republic of Meles is [...]

Photoshop .png gamma bug

Just been reading about an interesting Photoshop .png gamma bug. Not encountered it myself as I tend to output my pings through Fireworks, but it’s worth remembering.

World of Badger makeover

As I’ve nearly finished the World of Badger redesign and conversion to pMachine, I decided to make it ‘live’ last night. There are still a few things to do, such as get my contact form back up, style the search facility, and upload some old photos. I also still need to do some serious testing [...]

UPDATE: The Free Republic of Meles economic upturn

Thankfully my nation is looking a little healthier:
UN Category: Left-Leaning College StateCivil Rights: SuperbEconomy: ReasonablePolitical Freedoms: Good
Of course there is always a price to pay for economic stability, and with The Free Republic of Meles that price was allowing human cloning and relaxing restrictions on big business. Consequently, the description has now changed:
The Free Republic [...]

The Flaming Cheeks

Obvious statement of the day: naked man careering down a road on a motorised barstool, with his arse on fire confessed to having “had a few”.
