Blowing away the cobwebs

The days just seem to be flying by at the moment, and I’ve just realised it’s been over a week since I last posted here — shame on me. Before I go any further, I’d like to thank the people that have offered their condolences after my gran’s death. I wasn’t sure whether my essentially light-hearted blog was an appropriate place to write about a family member shuffling off this mortal coil, but then I thought, if I can write about people I don’t know being blown to bits in Iraq, there’s no reason I can put down a few words about my gran’s sad-but-natural death. And the people I’ve spoken to about it have said they thought it was nice, which made me feel better.

Since my last post, Mr & Mrs Cortina have got back from their honeymoon in the States, having narrowly avoided pawning their wedding rings to fund their addiction too the slots whilst over there. Have yet to see any photos of the trip, as Rob’s web hosts are having a ‘mare, and his site’s vanished into the ether (hopefully only temporarily).

Anyway, they obviously had a wonderful time, and managed a trip to the Grand Canyon — yes, I’m sure it was spectacular Rob, but is it really a patch on Cheddar Gorge? Rob and Em are having their for-those-too-lazy-to-make-it-to-the-States party this Friday, which is rather convenient, as I’ll be in Cardiff for my gran’s funeral on Wednesday anyway. And speaking of Cardiff… Division 1 for the first time in 18 years! Woo Hoo!
