Seaside Snaps
Like most people, I like to take a few snaps when I visit the seaside. So do Gabrielle and Kenneth Adelman. Except they’ve taken over 12,000 photographs of the California coastline, in an attempt to document it before any future environmental destruction.
From a helicopter flying at 500ft, they’ve photographed almost every inch of the coast, using a 6 megapixel Nikon, which transfers the images straight onto a PowerBook. The images are stamped with latitude, longitude and altitude by GPS, before being put on their web site: California Coastal Records Project. All the photos from their survey are up there, and can be searched by position or name. Amazing
