World of Badger
Just what the world needs, another blog by a web designer

Wet and willing

Well–no pun intended–I apologise for the lack of updates recently. Rob and I have been up to our necks in PHP, coding for some commercial bling-bling-app, and I just haven’t felt I’ve had the time to devote blogging about the rapidly-changing world events of late. So much corruption, lying, death and illegality, which story to choose…?

Anyhow, last week I was under no doubt that I was being persecuted by water. After the distress of finding someone had moved the Niagra Falls into my bedroom on my birthday, a couple of days later I recieved my birthday pressie from Jon & Lynda–a book from Amazon. What a lovely thing. However, upon removing the cardboard and shrink-wrap from my gift, I discovered the pages were water-damaged–wrinkled and stuck together. I’ve now returned the book to Amazon.co.uk, but have yet to see how their returns system works (i.e. they’ve ignored me). Wouldn’t be too concerned, except it cost me £6.09 just to send the book back to their Returns Department by recorded delivery. Hmm. Amazon’s site describes the refund process for faulty goods, and the refund process for unwanted gifts, but not the refund process for faulty gifts. So, unless I hear different, World of Badger says “don’t buy from Amazon–buy from your local independent book shop. They might be more expensive, but you get a superior level of service, and they’re there when things go wrong, water-wise”.

On the bright side though, Kevin Costner’s just been on the phone and asked my to co-star in his new film, Waterworld II: Plumber’s Revenge. I’m feeling pretty optimistic about it.
