It's been several years since I originally wrote that piece, but I seem to remember getting my information from a page on the BBC site; the page I originally linked to no longer seems to exist, so I can't say for sure. On the other hand my mistake could well have come about through Messrs Croft and Perry being so closely associated (in my mind at least, almost as though they're a single entity!) that I just assumed that "Oh Doctor Beeching" was created/written by them. I took the created idea to David Croft, OBE and it was jointly written by us. It came about as a result of my 35 previous years as a Railwayman (from when came so many of the storylines). I am also to be seen as a member of the cast in the form of Inspector Ernie Orkindale. Perhaps at some point you could amend your write-up to so read. Many thanks.
