World of Badger
Just what the world needs, another blog by a web designer

One for Leslie

Sorry if updates have been a bit thin on the ground lately—Rob and I have been busy bees, working flat out on a number of projects (specifically, two ecommerce sites and the information architecture for a local authority extranet), and redesigning our own site too. I’ve also been playing with local installs of a few PHP weblog scripts I found on Open Source CMS; pMachine is OK, but I’ve had to hack it somewhat to get it working the way I want, which makes upgrading a hassle. So I’ve narrowed it down to two: WordPress and b2 Evolution. Anyone reading this care to comment on either?

Of course all work and no play makes Badger a dull boy, and with that in mind I’ve spent far too much time playing some of the most beautiful Flash games I’ve seen. Apparently Chris used to work on the floor above the people who did those—think he said they went out of business, which is a real shame.

Did you know that Dr. Seuss worked as the chief editorial cartoonist for the New York newspaper PM between 1941 and 1943? Dr. Seuss Went to War features over 400 of his editorial cartoons.

If games and cartoons aren’t your bag, how about some pictures of people with no clothes? No, not Dirty ‘Panto Perv’ Den. Fuck for Forest is an ‘environmental porn’ site, promising to give profits to save the rain forests. It came as no surprise to read that they’re Scandanavian. And they’re looking for models, if you fancy showing off your bits for a good cause. If that’s a little too racey for you, you can find 1,247 pictures of body parts in the classic Gray’s Anatomy of the Human Body, all of which has been placed online.
