Just what the world needs, another blog by a web designer

Back to basics

I know, you’re sat there thinking “Hmmm, it looks different somehow…”. Don’t worry, it’s only temporary—midway through updating from pMachine to b2evolution, I was side-tracked by the Sainsbury’s half-price Hardy’s plonk offer (£8 down to £3.70). So the default dull look will have to suffice until tomorrow. In the meantime, if you experience any weirdness, do please leave a comment. Toodlepip.

  1. Wow. Impressive – you deserve the plonk after the hard work!

  2. Yeah, but now I’ve had the wine and arrived back home, I’m wondering why I didn’t receive an email saying that someone had commented on one of my posts…

  3. I shall try again…

  4. I know that this is the least of your concerns buddy, but this layout suffers from the good old horizontal scrollbar bug (in both Firefox and IE6).
    For shame!
    Sort it out Dave!

  5. Oh, and the comments page has 40 errors (according to the W3C validator) all of which are caused by comments in the code:

Let’s see if b2Evo parses that lot out?

  6. Ah, yes it does, how about html entities:

  7. Well it seems the no-email-after-comments thing is a bug in b2evolution. I’ll roll up my sleves and try to fix it this afternoon. As for the layout and validation problems, they’re going to be solved when I upload my new skins for the site.

  8. He’s gone again..

  9. “….with the sophistication of Roger Moore and the humour of Bill Hicks.”…not to mention the work rate of a member of the Troy family ;-)

  10. No, he’s back again, and this time it’s personal…! Still very much work in progress, due to an unplanned weekend of alcohol-fuelled excess. Tonight, perhaps…

  11. Looking better :)
