World of Badger - enjoyed by spooks

Wonder if this post will set off alarm bells in Echelon…? Just glancing at my visitor stats and I saw that I’ve had a couple of people arriving here from a link at http://k0nsl.nsa.gov/, which belongs to the US National Security Agency! Why is the NSA linking to me? Do I write so much crap that they think it could only be some sort of code? I’m rather hoping they’ve flagged me up as a pinko subversive thanks to my random bushism feature, although it’s probably something a little more mundane.

I did have a little look at their site, which even has its own kids’ section (featuring Crypto Cat — “Hey kids, when you grow up you too could start a war by feeding dodgy intelligence to corrupt politicians!”). I was also amused by the site’s Frequently Asked Questions page, which includes questions such as:

Do you assassinate people? Do you secretly perform experiments on us?

Naturally they deny it — they could tell us the truth, but then they’d have to kill us. Anyway, if you’re a spy or secret agent, do leave a comment (you don’t have to give your real name).

  1. If you do a search for the refer, or parts of the referer - you will see that they show up on several refer lists, and many ask the same questions - if you try to visit the link, you will notice it does not exits. These seem to be bot scripts put into compromised systems to search the web for certain things - like content management systems.

  2. Sorry, meant to say thanks for leaving the comment at the time… Yep, you’re right - weird, but almost certainly not the NSA. Which is a shame because I like to feed my sense of self-importance/paranoia with visions of Bond-like spies stalking me. Oh well, back to my mundane life I suppose!
