Phishing for scumbags
MailFrontier have put together a little test to see if you can spot Phishing emails (scams where scumbags try to trick you into revealing your account details). There are ten different emails from banks, ebay, paypal etc. and you have to decide whether each one is dodgy or genuine. I managed to get 8 out of ten right, with 6 and 9 the ones I flunked — one of those was a genuine one. Apparently most people only spot about 3 of the ten, which is scary.
They’ve also got an A-Z list of current email threat advisories, showing all the different companies that are being faked, and the methods used.
