To try and reduce the amount of comment spam that slips in here under the radar, I’ve launched a draconian, Blunkett-style crackdown by marking older entries closed to new comments. Of course comments will still be welcomed on recent posts.

Decided it was finally time to spend a bit of time on World of Badger, and started by assimilating some of the loose standalone pages from various directories into the b2evolution database. Having got back from the pub, I decided it was the perfect time to upgrade to the latest version of b2evolution. Of course this means I’ve had to overwrite some of my previous hacks, so things might look a wee bit odd or dull until I finish the process.

Last month Cory Doctorow gave a talk to Microsoft’s Research Group, trying to convince them that Digital Rights Management systems don’t work, and are bad for society, business and artists. You can read the transcript at dashes. Let’s hope it didn’t fall on deaf ears.

Just got in after watching the unveiling of the new £3.6m Diana memorial fountain this evening. Unfortunately the start of the ceremony was delayed by 45 minutes due to the massive crowds of onlookers whose numbers have been estimated at up to 500,000 people.
