RIP habeas corpus. RIP the presumption of innocence.

You might however consider whether you should not unfold as a background the great privilege of habeas corpus and trial by jury, which are the supreme protection invented by the English people for ordinary individuals against the state. After 800 years of the right to a fair trial in this country, Blair and his spineless MPs have just removed some of our most fundamental civil rights. I thought we were meant to be fighting this “War on Terror” to preserve and spread democracy, freedom and justice?
