Sweet, sweet candy

What an inspired way to beat the Christmas holiday boredom: create the battle for Helms Deep out of Gummy Bears.

the evil army of Saruman’s creation has broken through the wall and is streaming in for the sweet sweet sugary kill.

A truly epic creation.

I Don’t Feel Good

School’s out for Christmas!

Work’s been pretty hectic these last few months (actually the whole year’s been really busy), so it’s a relief to say “That’s it, no more work until 2007!”. As of 5.30pm today we’re officially on holiday, and will only be responding to client emergencies (our definition of emergencies, not theirs - crashed servers or compromised security qualify, but cosmetic changes to e-commerce sites or the inability to use a simple CMS do not).

I’m having a fairly low-key Christmas in London this year, so despite my good intentions, I’ll be surprised if boredom hasn’t driven me back to the computer by Boxing Day. Top of my list is getting the new design for World of Badger finished and live. I’ll probably try to catch up on a few other bits and pieces of work without the pressure of deadlines and client reviews too.

But for now my Chrimbo R&R kicks off properly tomorrow, when I’m meeting friends for an afternoon and evening of eating, drinking and being merry in central London.

Happier New Year

Doesn’t quite seem appropriate to whitter on about my take on 2004, or about what a chilled Christmas I had, when so many people are having such a terrible time because of the tsunami… maybe I will shortly, but for the time being I just want to say I hope 2005 is good to you and yours.

If you want to donate to the tsunami earthquake appeal, you can do so online at the Disasters Emergency Committee site (perhaps a suitable sum would be in the region of what you spent getting bladdered on New Years Eve).

Ho ho ho

Happy Christmas to anyone visiting World of Badger.

Sorry if the latter part of this year has been a bit pants (posting-wise, rather than geo-politically - that wasn’t my fault), but I promise to try harder in 2005.

Utterly drunk

Well the last few days have been, as expected, a silly whirlwind of drinking, eating and drinking. To briefly recap: Spent Christmas Eve in the Railway pub in Penarth, most of which is a blur. Suffice is to say, Simon declined drinking in favour of driving, and so I woke up on Christmas morning at his pad in Cardiff. Superstar. Had Christmas Dinner at my Gran’s (bless her) although it was thanks to Super Mum that we had such a fantastic nosh-up. That evening was spent getting somewhat shit-faced back in Cardiff at, initially Nesher’s (I know that’s wrong) drinking home-made Yugoslavian ‘moonshine’, then at Adrian’s — the highlight of which was getting the Chilli Sauce in my eye. Boxing Day, after a visit from Big Fitz, Simon and I popped over to Jon & Lynda’s for the evening, which was drunken and all-too-brief (with the usual lovely food). Thursday night, Si entertained Hadyn, Juan Pablo (from Colombia) and Nesher. Once Pete arrived we sauntered into town, where we me Dan. Cardiff was fairly dead, but nevertheless, Dan succeded in having his wallet pinched. Hadyn and Juan Pablo stayed over at Si’s, but after they left, Si and I sank slowly into a pit of partied-outness. Ended up watching very bad TV and tinkering with his computer. Today started slowly, lots of cups of tea and crap telly, with only Jason’s fleeting visit providing a brief intermission. Dom and Dan came around later, an we met up with a bunch of other people at a bar. Possibly my least interesting entry, but I am currently well-and-truly wankered on Guinness and G&T’s.
